A quick tour on the campus...

Fabrice in the teacher's room
Next the teacher's room, it's still a bit rough!
Second floor, one of the hudge corridor of Supinfocom's building (It's a 6 floors building)
In the foreground: First year studen's work. In the background: The campus cafeteria, and behind, the student's building.
Little garden in front at the entrance of the flats building. Behind: The director's houses.
Closer shot on the garden. I like this weird funny grass with those little volumes.
Feels like a Miyazaki movie... (I think it's actually imported from Japan)
Another first year student's work. Probably my favorite ;)

Our very first days...

Post: Magali
Here we go!... We're now arrived in India, and straight started to visit the campus (after a short first night in our new apartment), met colleagues, first "team lunch", etc... Everybody here seems very nice (for the moment! Eheh)! We are a group of 4 frenchies, 1 german guy and 3 indians (including a couple) only for Supinfocom. It says "International" campus!
I still hardly realise we're going to be teachers... (my goodness), but well, we still have 3 weeks before students start to arrive on the campus. So at the moment its very quiet, and I guess it's a good thing before starting the hard work!

On our first week-end, we went to the city center of Pune, started shopping for our very, very big flat. For transport, we currently have a driver, who's an employee of the DSK group (the one supinfocom belongs to)
It was one afternoon only, but so exhausting! One thing I've noticed is the beauty of the fabrics, everywhere... Lots of women wear the Sari (the traditional indian dress) and it's so colorfull and delicate. It's actually contrasting so much, sometimes, with the insalubrity and dirty aspect of some streets, transports...Beautifull and strange at the same time. Anyway. Thats for my first visual feeling. For the auditive one: It's quite noisy in the city center... Indeed, considerating the craziness of the traffic! Here, there's no rule (at least none that I could notice). Actually, there is maybe one rule: If you can go, you just go, and make some noise, like to say "I'm here!" and that's it. Yes, it is scaring, but I guess we'll get used to it. It's only in the city center and near the roads.

We can find pretty much everything here in term of shopping. But "everything" has a price! So, lots of things are, of course, cheaper than Europe, like cigarets (a 20 marlboro paquet is 100 roupies=1.50 euro) food, restaurants, fabrics, etc... But any imported product (coffee, coffee machine, cheese, proper wine, cosmetics...) are the same price as in Europe, and sometimes even more expensive!... Because imported, obviously... But, well, the idea is to adapt ourselves to the country, so I guess I'll drink less coffee. Here we drink "chai", any time of the day, a mix of black tea, milk, sugar and various spices... Delicious! And the official beer, the king fisher, is ok, perfect for the friday drinks!
