Hampi

We just spent a few days in Hampi, Karnataka, for our February vacations. Hampi is a real archeological treasure: There are about three hundred temples spread on30 km2, and a cute little village, where locals, neo hippies and a few tourists seem to get along really well. Artisans

Finally! This subject is finally done and it was quite a success :)
Yesterday (tuesday 31st januar) the Advanced 1 students presented the work they’ve been doing for the past 4 months, in front of the all school.
The subject: Artisans / 2 images per student (close shot and wider shot) / Full 3D
They worked hard... So did I and Fabrice! Again, I was supervising the pre-production, the modeling and UVs, and Fabrice took care of the texturing, rendering and compositing.
I’m happy about it, because I’m leaving the place soon, but I know they all made great improvements (they all started to learn 3D this year).


They are looking for internships and they all wish to work abroad if possible. If you hear something in your studio/company, do not hesitate to contact them. Enjoy :)

Mumbai, just a quick week-end...

We went to Mumbai last month with Fabrice, just to spend the week-end. Our most interesting experience there was probably the train: First time we took the train in India, actually! (The logotype might look familiar to some londoners...) We could appreciate the... safety standards over there. Really impressive to see those doors totally open all along the journey, people jumping in and from the train, when it's still going, and sometimes, on the way, you see guys on the rails: Workers. If a train arrives, well, they might just jump on the side and go back until the next one! And in the end, well, it's like anything, you get used to it... Also, a picture of a cricket team in a parc. Cricket is very popular in India: A leftover among others from the british colonies. Something I really liked, is the color of the taxis: They have the exact same colors/look as the "rikshaws" (the indian "touc-touc"). It's like in a cartoon, daddy car and baby car, same uniform :)
